I am off on Monday and was planning to come down for a day of fishing but am concerned about the water after the rain? Any suggestions on flies etc. with these conditions?

Water is up a couple a feet, it is still clear and fishing was pretty good this morning.

I caught a few on big bunny bugs, and a few on egg patterns.

Thanks, I will try to stop by the shop and/or post a report.

The river got a bit dirtier this afternoon, but still very fishable.

We finally have some water again, the river came up a couple of feet, got a little

murky and then cleared up pretty good and was getting a bit murky this afternoon

when I left at 3:00.

But the river is in great shape, I caught trout on bunny bugs, san juan worms,

woolybuggers and a few on egg patterns today.

I was able to use 5X and 4X tippet today because

of the higher water, and the bigger flies. I did go to 6X when fishing the

san juan worms and the egg patterns.

I talked toa couple of guys this morning that were doing well on griffiths gnats,

adams, and lt. cahills, both fisherman had caught several nice fish on dry flies.

White thread jigs were working well for a lot of fisherman, they work well when

the water is up a bit, they sink fast and fish under an indicator well.

Lots of fisherman using the double fly set up, copper john, or a pheasant tail with

either a zebra midge or a micro egg dropper, seemed to be working today.

Glo-balls and marabou jigs were working well for a few people today, the brighter eggs

seemed to be best today, I was catching mine this morning on a orange/with red dog.

The bunny bug colors for me today were chartruse, and orange

One fellow up by the lodge this morning was catching a few on a skunk roostertail, and

he told me later a few on a gold roostertail with a black tail.

The browns the hatchery stocked are easy to see right now, they are a lot lighter

than the rainbows and in the shallow water they really stand out right now.

Fishing is still pretty good and there are a few months of C&R left, so you need

to get out and give it a try.

Man was there a big crowd today.... I spent the majority of the time wading the C&R area where it was a little less crowded. I did best on mini-sculpin but caught some fish on top on a crackleback and a zebra midge in the afternoon. Tim thanks for the report, the water was fine....
