Members petertherock Posted March 23, 2006 Members Posted March 23, 2006 Roy, Follow Don's advice. The Mid-Lake area from Kimberling to the dam is my main water to fish. It's too early yet though. We need to see a couple more to three weeks of consistant warm weather for it to really turn on. You're going to have to make a run my friend and Shell Knob or up the James would be your best bet. Just be careful, read my post from March 20th about the low lake level! petertherock
roy_eros Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Thanks for the help looks like i'll be going to wally world to buy some wigglewarts. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Members 1HawgHunter Posted March 23, 2006 Members Posted March 23, 2006 Peter, Where is Shell Knob? I can not see it on the map anywhere. Thanks
SKMO Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Peter, Where is Shell Knob? I can not see it on the map anywhere. Thanks Shell Knob is where the Kings River and the White River come together on the west end of the lake. State Hwy 39 crosses the lake here, about 30 miles S of Aurora MO. Members 1HawgHunter Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 SKMO Thanks for the help. I fished near the darn yesterday and caught 12 bass but only one made 15". The others were from 13" to 14 3/4". Today was in the same area and caught three over 15" and foul-hooked a carp in the dorsel fine. Now that is a good fight. Thought I hooked a monster. I'll head up north tomorrow and check out "Shell Knob".

Members 1HawgHunter Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 Hi Don, Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I fished up toward James but no luck. I did catch a nice 3-4 pounder in the general area I caught the 12 bass before. As far as the location, with all due respect, I need to hold off on that info until after the tournament this Sunday. Hope you understand. I think they are starting to stage for the spawn. (males) When the water warms up I think this will be a hot area. I am here on vacation and staying at Artilla Cove Resort. Will be here until the 30th. Are you a local guide?
