Members troutrcool Posted February 2, 2009 Members Posted February 2, 2009 Does anyone have any suggestions on what specific type of midges and scuds that may be useful this weekend? Also, anyone having luck with the San Juan Worm. If so what color?
OKFlyFisher44 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 When I was there....we had luck with brown, ginger, and olive scuds along with Y2Ks, red/orange san juans, and sculpin patterns. Lots of different things work at random times on Taney it seems... For sure have a good selection of scuds in the fly box though and you'll be fine.... troutchaser Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I'm not much of a midge/scud guy, but I would certainly recommend primrose & pearl midges and tan scuds. I would also strongly recommend olive soft hackles and black wire soft hackles. For San Juans, go with Worm Brown or red. Paul Rone
