Members Trolling For Walleye Posted April 5, 2009 Members Posted April 5, 2009 I finally got the boat out today. I found an area protected from today's intense winds. My trolling speed is about 2.5 mph i did get out in the wind and realized the impact that makes... i will always try to troll INTO the wind as that slowed me down to 1.8-2 mph, whereas with the wind i was at 3-3.2 mph. of course today's wind was intense Boat is on Table Rock Lake near Shell Knob, MO
rangerman Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Your trolling speed may be a little fast for this early in the year, I usually run 1.2-1.9 in the spring and reserve faster speeds for summer 1.9-2.5mph. But it is all trial and error. If you use a pair of wind socks/bags off of your bow it should slow you down perfect
