I am taking a week off to fish 3/14 - 3/21. This is is the first time I have fished Beaver in early spring in a long long time. I know the stripers will be up in the river, but will I be able to fish them in the lower lake (Rocky Branch to the Dam)? How about bass/crappie fishing and techniques in the same area? Thanks.

I have gone at that same time the last few years, and will be there again this year that same week. Everytime we have gone we have not had to leave the river area to find what we were looking for so i can't be of much help on the other end of the lake. We will be staying at Hickory if they have sites open, stop buy if you would like.

I am possibly going to beaver 3/18 3/19, concidered camping? Are the campgrounds even open? If so are they expected to fill up with fisherman?

There will be Stripers all over the lake at that time. Not all of them run up the river, lots run up the creek arms (Van Hollow, Rambo, Clifty). One advantage of the Rocky Branch area is that your fishing area will be less affected by rains. If we get a big rain right before you come, the river will be a dirty brown color that can turn off those fish. Rocky Branch stays clear all the time (except for last spring). Bass fishing should be on fire with stickbaits and wiggle warts on wind blown banks. The campgrounds will be open, just some of them may not have the facilities going yet. I know Prarie Creek allows people to camp but they do not have bathrooms or electricity running in the winter. I would think by March most should be up and running
