I fish a 18'9" BlueWave Deluxe with an Etec 115 on Beaver. I bought it last year and could not be more pleased with the boat and the motor. Reasonably priced and well built. Good in skinny water. My only regret is that I did not go for the 22 footer. The Blue Wave is much drier and wont knock your fillings out like the bay boats of years past (anyone remember BayHawks?). I am not a Kenner fan. Unless they have improved from years ago.

If I was gonna put a 4 stroke into this boat I would go bigger than the 115. Mine is a 200 optimax. Granted I could get away with the 150 but I wouldn't go lower than that. Its a lot of boat. As for going above Fall creek, I was glad I was in it when the flood gates were roaring.

I really appreciate the input. ANY other mako or kenner owners out there?

I rented an older Mako down in the Florida Keys… thing was built like a tank. It’s my understanding though that the newer ones aren’t built like the use to be. You might consider doing a search on www.thehulltruth.com or posting a question there.

THere is a Mako center console at Springfield Bass Pro. But not having seen them in the water, I have no idea how high out of the water I will be standing and fishing compared to a bass boat. I know some higher, etc. That can be good tho as you can see to case and see the cover way out. Of course the fish can see you farther too.

Any comments are apprec. I have to make a ONE SHOT decision for the next 20 years on this. Cannot make a mistake
