Members jackaroe22677 Posted February 27, 2009 Members Posted February 27, 2009 Finally got a weekend off. I'm wondering if anybody is catching fish below the dam. I was hoping to catch some walleye from the bank. Any reports? Paul
brownieman Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I can't seem to get a decent report on the tailwaters at Truman. The time should be about right now for the females to be spawning. They won't be on the feed too much but the males should be looking for a meal although they also will be in a spawning mode. That friend of mine that caught a big female below powersite about 3 weeks ago said she was chunked full of eggs...would say they were staging then. From my experience the magic water temp number is right around 60 for the whites and birds...generally from about mid april to mid may depending on what mother nature dishes out as always. Drift fish some double rigged jigs, minnows, crawlers...eyes being a suspended fish once you find the right depth go for it. Only problem I've had with live bait there is trying to keep the dink cats and some of the trash fish off your line...although if you just enjoy a bend in your rod you to can be a 'Drum Meister', lol Slider generally hits Truman quite a bit...maybe he will post up some info if he has been...wouldn't mind hearing a little info myself. My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><
