gabe Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Speaking of flurocarbon, how often does everyone change out their line?
Members adamarnold Posted March 2, 2009 Members Posted March 2, 2009 i like to change mine pretty often. here is what i do on rods and reels that i use quite often. i will spool the line so it a little over half full on the reel spool that way i am forced to change quite often as it is way to easy to put it off and just hit the lake and say oh well the line will be ok. i have got to the lake too many times with my line getting worn and lost fish cause of it so i have learned my lesson.
Members KCNitro Posted March 2, 2009 Members Posted March 2, 2009 If I am fishing a tournament, I'll respool the night before the first day. Then I'll use that line for the weekend and respool after the practice of the next tournament. If I am just out fun fishing I won't respool for a few trips. You can extend the life of your line by using a line conditioner like kvd line and lure conditioner. It will help protect the line from sun damage and prevent a lot of the line memory. Just make sure to apply it to the line as you spool it. Spray it on a rag and run the line through it. After each day I also spray some on the reel.
