Fly_Guy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 went down yesterday - taylor for an hour or two - saw some folks catching whites, but had no luck - did catch a walleye though. Some folks in a boat caught a huge mess of em.

Members LEBHUNTFISH Posted April 27, 2009 Members Posted April 27, 2009 Me and my wife went to Taylor bridge this morning, got there about 8:20 and fished for about an hour with no luck so we went over to the steel bridge and fished about another hour with no luck, then went back to Taylor and fished for about 2 hours up and down the bank but all I had was 4 hits and caught one little large mouth bass that was about 8 inches long. There was several people there and several boats put in but I didn't see anyone catching a thing except for two guys that was on the other bank using minnows, they caught 3 or 4 but they wasn't that big and I couldn't tell what they was. This morning there was a lot of fish breaking water but they were all on the other bank and I couldn't reach them. Didn't matter anyways when they broke water close enough to cast, we never got a bite. We through everything in my tackle box and trust me that's plenty. It was a nice day but a little windy we left about 12:30, the water looked great for fishing just a little murky but with polarized glasses on you could see about 2 feet down. A bad day fishing or hunting is better than a good day at work anytime!

You need to get up to the places with current.....fish the current breaks....I've caught several on the East side of Taylor by the creek but nothing like the other places we've found that have current....with this rain, should make it interesting....
Fly_Guy Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Went to Tayler yesterday, and couldn't buy a white - got there early and fished where the creek comes in. Caught some quality (around 1 1/2 lb) largemouth though. And a kentucky. But no whites. I saw a fellow in a boat dump a huge load of fish guts off the bridge, but they could''ve been anything, from anywhere. Fishing in southwest mo is great, but a boat would be wonderful. Too bad, being poor
Micheal Kyle Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Hike up to the green ways trail and fish that section thats where we have been catching a lot of nice whites. Basically in that long straight stretch of water. We have had 2 limits everyday . Hope this helps. Full sink lines blue/white clousers To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Members LEBHUNTFISH Posted April 29, 2009 Members Posted April 29, 2009 If I go across the bridge and park where the boats are put in and face the river, which way is the green ways trail from there, left or right and approximately how far is it. Thanks for any advice. A bad day fishing or hunting is better than a good day at work anytime!
