smallmouthjoe Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 A friend of mine is going to taneycomo this Sunday and she asked me what she should use. I tole her that I'm not really sure because I've never fished the lake before. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? She will be using light spinning equipment and fishing from a boat. Any information would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
mwfischer Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 A group of guys and I were down last weekend fishing with light spinning gear drifting from boats, and we did the best on white jigs. Depending on the depth and the wind, anywhere between a 1/80th oz and a 1/16th. Some of the guys did good on spoons, Gold and Red little cleos.
smallmouthjoe Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 Thanks for the advise I'll tell her to pick up some white hair jigs.
soggyfeet Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Make sure to tell the regs for the lake or to read the boards before she starts to fish. No bait or soft plastics above Fall Creek, Must have a trout stamp above 65 bridge, slot limit above fall creek of 12 and 20, only one brown and must be over 20. There are others but those are just the ones off the top of my head. Jigs are usually a good bet in the upper section (trophy area) small spinners, and rat traps, little cleos are also used a lot on spinning gear. Brian
