I'm not from that area but fish the Sac a lot in the spring and fall. What do you like to fish for and how do you go about it?

WELL I LIKE TO FISH FOR CRAPPIE,BASS AND SOMETIMES CATFISH. RIGHT NOW I AM INTERESTED IN CRAPPIE. LIVED AT OSCEOLA FOR 13 YEARS AND SURE LOVE FISHING THERE. MOVED UP HERE NEAR TABLEROCK. I JUST DONT CATCH THE QUALITY FISH AT TABLEROCK AS AT TRUMAN. MAYBE ITS JUST ME. I FISHED TRUMAN SO MUCH IN 13 YEARS THAT I HAVE MY FAVORITE SPOTS. IT SHOULD BE GETTING GOOD IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. DEPENDING ON WATER TEMP. CATFISHING UP THE OSAGE IS OUTSTANDING IN ROSCOE AREA AND ABOVE. SAC IS GOOD AT TIMES BUT IS LIKE A WOMAN, ONE DAY IT WILL LOVE YOU AND THE NEXT IT HATES YOU. HE HE. HOPE MY WIFE DONT READ THIS. SHE IS A EXCELLENT FISHING PERSON. CRAPPIE UP THERE IS MY FAVORITE THO. WELL IF ANYONE HEARS ANYTHING WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFO. THANKS FOR TALKING XBEAR

XBEAR here is a Sac report, went Monday and Tuesday put in a 82 acess and went up river about to the cave, there were two of us 55 nice whites, mostly mostly males, 20 very nice crappie, lots and lots of kentuckies, two limits of drum and one 10# walleye mostly caught on swimming minnows. How's that for a report?

That sounds like a great day!

Has any noticed that number of ky's that truman has had in the past few years? This past year my best largemouth spot was taken over by ky's. Makes catching numbers of fish fun but all the ky's were 13 inches...

I sure have and wonder if that's not a good thing! I fish up and down from Bucksaw a lot and they have pretty much taken over. I hope that MDC takes notice and maybe change some length rules maybe allow people to take some home to eat, 12 to 13 inch bass are pretty tasty in my opinon, maybe help the largemouth out?

Shaker,

Thanks for the poast. I love to fish the lower Sac too but there never seems to be much posted. It can be so hot and cold I find it easy to waste a lot of

time and gas when nothing is going on. Sounds like you like to fish like you fish like we do lots of wood. Has there been any current? Nothing comming from Stockton it seems, but in the spring that is not always critical. I can't remember a cave. How far up is it? I very seldom go above the high bluff on

the left with a house on the upper end. do I need to go on up?

spin fisherx, I'll try to tell you the best I can, now with the lake up 4 ft. you could run with a prop probably to buzzard bluff without much of a problem, thats probably 4 to 5 miles past the house you are talking about. When the lake and river is normal maybe 1/2 mile past the house is a gravel bar in the middle of the river, rocks showing above the water level, going up move over to the right and motor on past it, 4-5' water easy, just past this is a wide gravel bar from bank to bank 1-2' raise your motor up and idle on over it carefull. Now you have a long deep hole of water maybe a half mile long? There is a shallow spot about half way up this hole I think that this use to be a ford, there is what appears to be a small boat ramp on the right 2-3' just go slow with motor trimed up. Now you have another long deep hole, at the head of this hole you'll see a high rocky bluff on the right, the river makes a bend to the left and right at the end of the bluff where there is a flat field is the cave, don't look much of a cave but I understand that it has been use for 100's of years by primitive people, often you'll see people looking around for arrow heads. Sometimes I'll go on up, but we started there and drifted back down looking for fish. The buzzard bluff is probably another 2 miles farther on up on your left, if you try to go past that use extreme caution if in a prop boat, lots of hard rocks and miles of gravel bars. There was a good water flow Monday, Tuesday there wasn't much, we caught more fish Monday but better size Tuesday. I fish that area a lot in the Spring and again in the fall, would like to hear other people experiences, it can be hot and cold day to day. There is a lot of fish up there right now! I run a tan Crestliner with a E-Tec if you see me stop by and say hello.

shaker,

I don't plan to be up that way for a while yet. We've been hitting the Warsaw area for the last 2 weeks and as long as we keep catching walleyes we will

be in that area. When we get there, I,m pretty easy to spot. I have a tan Xpress with a 90 Merc. I will be the fat guy in front with a grey beard, overalls

and a grey Iowa hat. Will be throwing to a bank somewhere with a jig. We go down a lot this time of year or go up around the first island.
