TroutFearMe Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Has anyone been fishing Montauk since opening day or has the fishing been so good nobody wants to draw attnetion to the park so the could keep it to themselves.
brownieman Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Don't fish it but have heard nothing bad about it...they chunk em in there every night...used to be 3 1/4 fish stocked per daily tag sold...weekends were averaged. I'm not trying to say anything except I don't know how stocked fish like that cannot be taken on something. I always wondered if the hatcheries would hold off on feeding the stockers for a couple of days if it wouldn't make them more aggressive, especaially for 'Kids Fishing Days' and such. Anyway the park to my knowledge is fishing well and from reading a few other posts on here they have probably stocked the Blue Ribbon Area with dink browns so it'll be good fishing also. Just remenber try not to net or handle the fish more than need be. Unlike heavy scaled fish the slime on a trout is it's main defense against fugus, etc. JMO but it has some experience behind it...depending on who you ask, lol. My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><
TroutFearMe Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 I guess my question was missleading bman, what I was wanting to know has anyone fished it since opening day there has been a great silence about fishing reports since opening day thats all. Any reportwould be good even if you guys fish it and get skunked let us know what didn't work.
