Members Wildeye Posted March 16, 2009 Members Posted March 16, 2009 Finally going to get back to the lake on Tuesday, and stay through the weekend. We ended up staying at the Hide Away campground due to all the corps sites being closed. Looks like we will start fishing the rocky branch area then move down and launch in the rivers if we come up empty. Are there any good places to eat around Rocky Branch? I have heard something about a chicken shack at Monte Ne that is suppose to be good stuff. Also do most of the marinas at the lake have fuel on the water? Thanks guys, and i will report back when i get back.
Members LarryC Posted March 16, 2009 Members Posted March 16, 2009 The world famous Monte Ne Chicken. Think a chicken dinner served just like your at home. Only open certain days of the week so call first. Prairie Creek marina also has a restaurant on the water. I think all the marina’s still have gas...its been years since I bought any as there is a cost associated with the convenience. Looks like were going to get a warm up after this weekends blast of winter. Hope you load the boat...I've had good luck on white bass in the back end of Indian Creek this time of year. Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.

Best to price your gas BEFORE deciding. I paid close to $5 gal last fall at Big Johns or other. Praire Creek was a dollar cheaper. I recall hearing that @ Praire ~$ 3.80 would be what they had to charge until they pumped all that high priced gas out. I've been thinking of trailering as a result of the wide spread. Life has got to get easier. See you there soon. Steady...
