Bman Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Whew, shoulders, fingers are sore, waders wet(on the inside ) Just had one of those days when ya could do no wrong. I was fishing by myself so I was only able to get a pic of one fish,I know you're thinkin ya right...fish stories. Caught one AWESOME male rainbow, 24 inches, didn't get the girth,I didn't want to put him through all that after a long fight. ALMOST got a pic, bribed a passer by with some flies to get a pic of this handsome male. Held him up for the money shot...and flop! he got out of my hands before the dude could snap the pic , I was on my knees for the pic, so I dove for him taking water down my waders, gasp that waters cold! He was gone. What a day tho, awesome weather! and one of those days to remember on Taney, lots of fish on otherwise. Sore fingers, Bman here's the only pic I got from a kind passer by The only good line is a tight line
DoveTail Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Yeah, yeah - rub it in! ALL of your days are those days that nothing can go wrong with fishing, you are always hooking big fish! Congrats on the catches, what a shame the nice one didn't make the pic.
Buzz Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Nice fish. What were the best flies today? Thanks for the report. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
flyfishmaster Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Well I'm jealous. you dah man B. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
Bman Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Nice fish. What were the best flies today? Thanks for the report. Best bugs were size 16 & 18 ice scuds, with size 20 midge droppers. 6X to the first fly, and 7X to the dropper. I was spot fishing most of the big boys, and saw 4 of the big boys take! Exciting! The only good line is a tight line

Most of my bigger fish this year and last were like that. I caught a nice 18 inch rainbow out of Hickory tonight doing the same thing. She took an olive zebra midge, though nothing like what you caught. I gotta get back down there. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

DD'sMC Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Great fish, Bman! We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
tippett7 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Nice fish!! Did you get that one out of the Rebar Hole?
Terry Beeson Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Nice pheesh!!!! TIGHT LINES, YA'LL "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
