remi74 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 There are just a couple of places I can fish on the Illinois here in AR. Most of it being on private property - hard to get around. Caught a bunch of Kentucky and Smallies around 412 last year.
On The Fly 6 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Theres an access spot on the way to Wedington AR, (coming from Fayetteville) Its not private property. remi74 Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Ya, been there done that - it's an OK spot though. Spoiled - trying to get back towards state line - nice juicy fish.
bferg Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 So, I am new to NWA and still trying to find some places to fish. What is the name of the access? Can you tell me more about the access near Weddington? Can you wade fish there or is it a place to take a boat? Any info would be great...
remi74 Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Savoy - HWY 16 - little bridge. There was on other place - I waded in off a side road somewhere. I know a few other places a long ways off from there too. Let me know when you are up for it. There are deep holes by the bridge - so watch out - and it can be pretty slick in there too. I have never waded south - only north. That spot frustrates me but if you wade downstream a ways, it gets better. I haven't been down there since 2004. If you rent a canoe at Lake Wedington (or take your own), you can land a bunch of bream. Lake Bob Kidd has awesome Largemouth fishing on the far corner with all the lily pads and old sunken farm junk.
