I am heading to the northfork Tailwaters this weekend. However with the rain i am afraid they will be generating.

I am looking at the upper northfork as a possible backup. I have never been there before, but have read some about it.

Thanks john. Could i have some information on wade in spots. as well as places to eat.

thanks in advance

Hey lunkin,

Possible wading on the North Fork of the White (Missouri side) is at Patrick Bridge access on H Hwy, Blair Bridge access off of CR 354 (also off of H Hwy) and Kelly Ford off of a few county roads. I would recommend fishing the Patrick Bridge access and hike up the west side of the river from the campground to the islands.

For food you can come on into Gainesville and have Pizza or awesome burgers at the Antler.

Good Luck!

Brian is the expert on the North Fork - Missouri side...

But if you are talking the Norfork tailwaters below Norfork Dam... Wading at the park below the dam is good, but can get a bit crowded. One bonus is that you can hear the horn if they turn the water on and get out.

The other wading access would be at the Handicap access, which you have to go to Norfork (the town) and drive back up the county road along the west side of the river to reach. REALLY good fishing there.

As for food, you're best bet is to go into Mountain Home for a bite. Plenty of chains and locals to choose from. For Norfork itself, I'm not familiar with any of the local spots.

I would check the generation schedule and make the decision based on that. I'm willing to bet there will be some wading this weekend, though.
