3/26/9 Report

Fished from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. Thought I could get some gas at the Beaver Creek Marina so I launched for free (maybe until end of the month) at Beaver Creek Rec Area. I quickly found out they are only open on Fri, Sat and Sun. So I fished Beaver Creek all morning without a bite. I didn't have enough fuel to burn up to Swan and then back so I pulled boat out at lunch time and filled up in Kissee Mills and relaunched at Beaver.

I again had fish all over electronics and shad literally jumping in the boat. I had thrown white, smoke, purple and chartruese swimming minnows to no avail. Then my mind was thinking I have six pound line in fluro, and green mono on my reels. Now I am thinking they can somehow see my line. I tied on 3' of 5X fluro tippet I had with me and retied my purple swimming minnow and first cast sport LM. Few more casts and 1 LB LM. Few more casts and I hooked into white. Nice sow probably 1.5 lbs. Caught a few more whites before my cell phone with pictures went in the drink. I get completly pissed off and loaded up the boat to head back to Springfield. I am certain that night time would do better. Not sure if the upcoming weather will screw the whole spawn on whites and crappie.

My recommendation is very light pound test line and mine were all on purple swimming minnows. Out.

Sorry for your unlucky day, but I had the opposite.I put in at Kdock. Met another fellow I knew and we discussed the day,I decided to chase crappie instead of whites and Im glad of my desision.My father had told me he wanted a mess of crappie as he cant get out hardly at all because my mothers poor health.I caught so many small crappie I lost count but the legal size and very large crappie added to a honest limit .6 of my crappie were between 14 an 15 inches and one very large black crappie left me at the boat.I must admit it was a very good day to be out on the lake.I hope this weekend isnt as bad as they say and maybe the first of the week I can repeat.Oh and guys they are a long way from 25 foot deep and were prolly 50 yards from a 4 foot flat, full of eggs and very loose at that.And to the guys in the blue hydrasport,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NA NA <<<NA NA NA>>>
