soggyfeet Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Has anyone been fishing nights on the rock? If so any info would be great. Planning a trip down there next week (Apr 5 thru Apr 11) I see some daytime reports how does the night time differ besides being dark out and being cooler? Do the presentations and tackel change as well as the depth and areas to fish? Brian
Chris Tetrick Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Hey Soggy, I got a buddy of mine said he's been out night fishing and not catching a whole lot. Some keeper blacks and a few smallmouth mixed in. Mostly all off a black single spin and a few on a black/blue jig around boat docks. Mid Lakes Guide Svc. I know most guys don't fish at night until it warms up more, but my largest bass ever(8lb. 2 oz.) was caught during this same time frame about an hour after dark. We only could fish about two hours after dark because it was so cold that week that the ice froze in our guides after about two hours. Caught the fish on a jig on a chunk rock bank. We also caught fish on the black single blade spinnerbait that week.
