Members hendernt Posted April 1, 2009 Members Posted April 1, 2009 does anyone have info on hog sightings or good (relative term) places to find hogs in mo. I have heard rumors of there being a descent population up around stockton is this true?
Members TroutRabbithunter Posted April 2, 2009 Members Posted April 2, 2009 I have heard they're found around some of the corps of engineers lakes (norfork, stockton, and table rock) but I've also heard they move around a lot when there is hunting pressure in the area.
Members billynwtf Posted April 12, 2009 Members Posted April 12, 2009 Your best bet is to hunt around Wappello Lake near Poplar Bluff. You need to find highway KK . Lots of hogs still there. I would scout around looking for good fresh sign or a fresh wallow. These hogs are hunted hard so I would not try hunting them on the ground. Get near a fresh wallow and go up a tree and wait. You will have to wait until turkey season is over to hunt them. The best time is when it is really hot. The hogs have no choice but to go to water or a wallow. Good luck.
zander Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Evidently there are confirmed sightings of Russian boar and wild hogs around Chadwick in the Mark Twain National Forest. Here's the link: http://www.ky3.com/news/local/61293217.html I can remember sitting on pipelines in college popping pigs to have food to eat after I ran out of money on my meal card down in Louisiana. In these tough times, this may not be a bad idea. If I had more time, I'd be out there until I got the freezer full. Free chitlins.
