DaddyO Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I've been, periodically, checking the SWPA Generation Website to see what the schedule is for Today. It hasn't been updated and is still showing Wednesday, March 25th. What's up with that? DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
OKFlyFisher44 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Copy and paste this address... Its an hourly update on flows around the state. Awesome website... http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?cb_00010...ite_no=07198000 Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
DaddyO Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Thanks, Chance. I have that one already. It tells me what it is currently doing but it doesn't tell me what's scheduled. I like to look at the SWPA site to get an idea of how the flow for the day will be so I can decide whether or not I want to drive to Gore. They haven't posted for Thursday either and when I call the number they say 2 generators from 12 midnight to 12 midnight. We must've gotten a lot of water from those storms. This will be the 4th day in a row that they have had both generators going all day. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
OKFlyFisher44 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Oh ok...sorry sir! Yeah, the SWPA website is a joke sometimes. I bet most places will be blowing full bore on the generation for a while. My dad said Grand was generating quite a bit water and Keystone is REALLY blowing some water. Really sucks...I was really wanting to fish Zink or maybe even sneak out to Gore. But it just isn't going to happen for a while. Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
DaddyO Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Hey! Don't Sir me!! I was wanting to go to Gore Saturday. I just noticed that they have their site working again and have also posted Fridays schedule which is 2 generators from midnight to midnight. I'm hoping the shut it down for the weekend. If they do, I'm going to go to Gore, if not I'll probably spend the weekend doing honey-do's. BTW - I found that TFO/BPS Hobbs combo that you referred to on the Arkansas River forum. I think that I will get that and tie up some more striper flies to prepare for a few jaunts over to the low water dam after work on a few evenings. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
OKFlyFisher44 Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Its a good combo for the $$$. I'm a die-hard Scott fan but my TFO casts great for $120 and the Hobbs reel was exactly what I wanted; a large arbor style reel w/ an adjustable drag for less than $50. You'll be very happy with it...I've caught everything from alligator gar to largemouth to carp on it. I even caught a little channel catfish on accident in the little river we fish for carp. I'm with you on the afterwork trips to Zink...I think I'm going to start keeping my wader bag and rod-tube in the truck with me at all times. Hopper Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Never take my gear out of my truck except for cleaning Check the SWPA web site after 5:00 pm for the next days generation, its been prety accurate this year so far. The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing.
OKFlyFisher44 Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 They're showing no generation for saturday at Gore...could be some good fishing! Heh, the problem with my gear is that I have 2 trucks that I drive. My little isuzu that I drive to work everyday...lol, you throw in a rod-tube, gear bag, and my fishpond pack...well, my front seat is almost all the way full!!! Oh well....when they're generation 27,700 cfs at Zink, I dont see us fishing there for a while! Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
