Members Buggy_Whip Posted April 1, 2009 Members Posted April 1, 2009 I have a brand new Native Ultimate and I am dying to launch it in the river and chase some big stripers/hybrids. Is this safe or a danger? I would think that I could cover a lot more ground with it.
smallmouthjoe Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I fish from a kayak all the time and have caught many big fish from it. I've never caught anything as big as a striper before but I would image that it would tow you around too much. A five pound bass will tow me and my forty pound kayak twenty feet in still water. A twenty pound + striper may pull you a hundred yards. I wouldn't feel safe doing it, because during a run you have almost no control over where your going and in moving water that lack of control makes it too dangerous for me. If you can pull it off let me know.
Members Cunningham Posted April 3, 2009 Members Posted April 3, 2009 nah, you should just leave it for me
