brownieman Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Often times these are fungus's that have formed around an injury. Concerning trout this happens on accasion when their protective slime is wiped off...being a skinned fish with very small scales injuries allow fungus to set in...cats are suseptable to such fungi also. Fungi attacks where a fish has been injured...skinned fish are more suseptable than heavily scaled fish, that's one thing I have against handing or netting trout...anything that removes the protective slime encourages fungi to form. My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><
