Often times these are fungus's that have formed around an injury.

Concerning trout this happens on accasion when their protective slime is wiped off...being a skinned fish with very small scales injuries allow fungus to set in...cats are suseptable to such fungi also.

Fungi attacks where a fish has been injured...skinned fish are more suseptable than heavily scaled fish, that's one thing I have against handing or netting trout...anything that removes the protective slime encourages fungi to form.

My friends say I'm a douche bag ??

How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait! rtj4bb.gif
