Members yakfisher Posted April 8, 2009 Members Posted April 8, 2009 Has anyone fished either of the two lakes at the Schell-Osage W/A? Both look like they could have fair fishing. Thanks in advance
Members oledutch Posted April 13, 2009 Members Posted April 13, 2009 I have crappied fish both lakes and both are good crappie lakes. A lot of people fish the south lake in the summer and catch crappie all summer long. I'm not sure of largemouth bass or catfish, but do know that both lakes also have this available . i
Members DLM84 Posted May 28, 2009 Members Posted May 28, 2009 Has anyone fished either of the two lakes at the Schell-Osage W/A? Both look like they could have fair fishing. Thanks in advance I have, Many people fish it regularly and catch crappie, bass and Cat fish in both lakes. In the north lake I fish for crappie by they east side (where all the stumps are sticking out of the water) and on the other side is good cat fish territory. Early this month (05 0f 2009) there was a flood down there. Both roads were flooded out & the only thing biting were the fly's & some catfish from the River. I was there around 5-20-09. The flood had given back most of the road on the north lake up to that river road but you still could not make it all the way around yet. Loads of Amish people up there, apparently they were camping out at the schell-osage camp grounds. Weird people those were, every time we would stop to talk with the fishermen they would huddle together and whisper amongst them selves. I wonder what that is about? I noticed they and there hoarses were skin and bones too. must have been a bad year for them or some thing. Any way the fish all seemed to be done biting for now, It will probably pick up once the silt is down on the bottom. Right now its all stirred up and you can't see 2 inches into the water.
