Can't say that I'm anything special. Just wanted to introduce myself and come here to get educated. I'm fairly new to the Ozarks having come from the Seattle area some 10 years ago with a 9 year holding pattern in the North Dakota/Minnesota region. I grew up fishing like a madman whenever I could get my line wet. I've held that passion ever since my Dad first took me when I was about 8. Ever since that time I made it a tradition that whenever any of the little kids in our family no matter sons, daughter, cousins, nephews etc .... I took em fishing soon after their 3rd birthday and baseball games when the season started and see if they liked either one.

Well to make a long story painlessly short I'm ready to hit the waters again after having my rods n reels collecting dust for nearly 8 years due to cancer and a bad marriage. Now I'm back on my own agenda with a lady who's just moved here from Houston, Tx to be with me and she has the same passion for fishing as I do. Sorry guys. I'm a little too old to have any tadpoles running loose in the creek. LOL!

Now I'm in a new environment with new things to learn and what seems like tons of great places to fish. Until I can find someone who wants to trade their boat/motor/trailer rig for my old GMC truck I'm pretty much attached to the banks. Any help, suggestions and pointers any of you can give I greatly appreciate it! God has Blessed me with some time to heal with a back injury so I'm gonna be looking out for any dry spells in the weather I can find an excuse to hit with a hook n sinker.

I live in Springfield so I am fairly equi-distant from Stockton to Table Rock and all points in between. It's a pleasure meeting you all and I hope I get to meet some of you on the waters or banks sometime. God Bless and my your creels be full!!

On a side note - we took our first outing to Rockaway Beach armed with some worms n power bait on Wednesday. Was a beautiful day but apparently the fish have decided not to come out and play. I've noticed the moon is high at a night so perhap when the cycle changes and the temps decide to stay steadily warm things will pick up.

LOL!! Not so FAST!! I've been a Seahawks fan since their first day as a team back in 74 if my memory serves me correctly. For several decades they were barely a team in contention and they still struggle but I've never been a fairweather fan for any team. Currently the Mariners are a perfect example of that. I love both sports and both teams and it's going to take a couple of seasons under my belt to get aquainted with the players of all the local teams. Being in the NFC I can't possibly follow the Rams. I did have the pleasure of seeing them beat the Rams in a game last season that no one seemed to want to win. Let's just hope next season is better for both teams and we get some respectable games to watch. For right now baseball is just getting under way and I'm real excited about that. I have no experience in AA ball but since they seem to have a pretty good team right here I'm sure I'm going to be going to a lot of games just because I love the game. I also just started going to MSU this spring but I've not yet really had a chance to gauge their sports programs yet.

At any rate thanks fellas for the warm welcome! Fishing is just another passion I love to do and enjoy learning and talking about so I think I've found a good crew of folks to get acquainted with.

FISH ON!!

Welcome! If you want to catch trout, go to the trout dock (just below fall creek... $3 fee to get on it) and throw a rig with a #6 gold hook and 2 orange and 2 yellow powerbait balls on the hook. The sinker needs to be up 18 inches from the hook. Use only one sinker unless the water is running. You MUST use light line (#4 vanish is great!).

Tight Lines!

Welcome to "the Show-Me State" and to the forum. Looking forward to your posts!
