I want to clarify that I, personally, do not agree with the fellow that said you were lying.

I said it was an oddity that they were TR rookies (so to speak) and caught such huge fish fishing "wherever they were" because they were lost. It is not easy to catch one 5+ pounder, much less two-- escpecially when you don't know where you are, and are limited to where you can fish because you are lost.

Glad to hear that they survived the evening and made it back home in the end. I wish they wouldn't have kept (especially) those two trophy fish, but that's another matter altogether-- legal is legal, and to each his own.

Your story was certainly an unlikely and remarkable story, but I do not think a lie. Whodat seems to like to stir the pot regularly-- don't mind him.

I see where it would sound fishy too but when you see the fish your self what is one to believe? I guess I should have been lost in the fog instead of at Stockton on Sat as I couldn't buy a bass. I also think when they caught them big bass it was still day light out side they put in at 7:00 pm so they still had some light.I was told they ran about 10 min. away and was fishing when the fog got so thick they couldn't see with their spot light to find the ramp so when they did try to make it back they got lost. When day break hit they were 5 mins. away from the ramp.So they did know where they was at when they took off in the day it was the fog that hurt them.

If these two fishermen were out of Indian Point then I may be able to confirm the post. Saturday morning we were fishing a club tournament and in traveling through the fog we were waved down by two men in a brown and white bass fishing vessel. They told us that they had fished all night and was lost and looking for Indian Point. We guided them in the right direction as they were not far from there already. When asked how they had done they confirmed that they had seven (7) keepers and pulled out one that appeared would go 5+.

My partner speculated that they were not in a night tournament and the only reason for keeping them was to put them in a skillet.

I hope that this helps.

How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait! rtj4bb.gif

Little note on whodat, it is best just to ignore him.

I had nothing to do with the lying comment...that was all whodat...again it is best to ignore him.

My statement had to do with keeping the bass. Yes, it is their decision, but a little peer pressure never hurts to hopefully convince someone to let those bass live to fight another day the next time they go out.

Again, that is why God made crappie and white bass.

Very glad to hear your friends escaped the night unharmed.
