binman Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Fished the crappie tourney today and needless to say I SUCK!!! Did not even get bit 1 time. Maybe I needed to try to find warmer water I had 53 in Price Branch and 55 by 215 bridge.The creeks might be warmer and that could be where they are hiding did see lots of bass wieghed in today all the ones I saw where in good shape when released.The biggest I saw was a 6p7o pig a fella caught on a Carolina Rigged Zoom lizard in Chartreuse. What I was told by every one the fish were on the bank tight but the bite was good.Lots of walleye caught today bass fishing and crappie from what I understood the big slab crappie were on cranks shallow 10ft. and the walleye 6ft. on a Carolina Rig. It was surprisingly a nice shower for a while then it poured. Brandon Inman

It was surprisingly a nice shower for a while then it poured. yup your right about the river, 58 degrees today and it was 62 yesterday. found crappie in one to two feet of water. Caught several of those 13 inchers in the rain storm today. Me and a buddy both limited out
Members showmebassin Posted April 20, 2009 Members Posted April 20, 2009 57 degrees up Greaser creek on Saturday, caught a limit of 13-14 inchers about 5 foot off the bank on brush. It was a really good day, caught quite a few bass too. I tried out those new Gulp minnows they sell in the bucket and they work as advertised. adjust555 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE SAC RIVER SIDE IS WARMER THAN THE LITTLE SAC SIDE. IN THE PAST WEEK WE WERE ABLE TO CATCH CRAPPIE IN 2 TO 5 FOOT OF WATER ON THE SAC SIDE AND NOTHING ON THE LITTLE SAC SIDE. FISHED A CRAPPIE TOURNEY SUNDAY AND WON IT WITH A LIMIT OF 7 NICE CRAPPIES IN THE 12 TO 14 INCH RANGE.THIS NEXT 2 WEEKS WILL BE KILLER IF THE WEATHERMAN IS RIGHT. OUR SUMMER SHO-ME CRAPPIE SERIES STARTS MAY 3RD OUT OF STATE PARK MARINA. WILL POST DETAILS LATER, BUT WITH THE SPONSORS WE GOT SHOULD BE A 95 TO 100% PAY BACK WITH GIFT CARDS FROM LOWES AND WALMART. AND FRIENDLY FORD PROMISED 2 $500 BASS PRO GIFT CARDS FOR FISH OFF.
binman Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 Yeah Vince sure had some nice one's I would have liked to see more boats there was my only complaint. We did have heavy rain fall so may be the next one will have better weather and a better turn out. I am sure we can do better than 3 boats.If you are catching crappie guys come on out and fish a few you never know just might win it all. Brandon Inman
adjust555 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 SORRY YOU HAD A TOUGH DAY. i DID THE SAME LAST SATURDAY AND FISHED WITH OUT 1 BITE. WE WILL HAVE MORE BOATS. LAST SUMMER WE AVERAGED 4 TO 9. I THINK THE RAIN HAD A LOT TO DO WITH IT. WE ALSO DID NOT HAVE 1 FISH IN LIVE WELL TILL 1 PM.
binman Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Yeah it was a tough one but I have had many of days like that but I think finding out that my Grandpa was in the hospital kinda put alot on my mind so I just gave up instead of fishing like I should have but either way congrats on winning that one crappie you guys had was a nice one to say the least I think this warmer weather we are going to get will make fishing alot better for the way I catch em it's any one's ball game in these 7 fish tourney's though so next tourney I am prepared to at least wiegh-in. binman Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 It was big fish until one day I tried to sign in and it would not let me so I had to change my ID I just don't have hardly any one that want's to fish them with me so I just go and try to learn as much as possible off every trip and apply it. I know the lake fairly well but I am struggling to find a partner that want's to fish my buddy that I took with me he quit fishing on me and just sat there for approx. 2 hrs. so it was pretty much me fishing I think this next one I am going to try to get my dad or some one to go with me so at least I know he won't quit on me. This next tourney is going to come at the right time for the way I fish so I might do better Brandon Inman
binman Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Also would like to add that we did what we call Gambling with our luck I had originally planned on running to CC where some friends I know had been catching them real good but we decided that instead of running that far with out fishing there first could be a waste so we took out to the price branch where I am sure there had to be some crappie in there some where we just didn't find them and that happens to every one at least once. i learned more about crappie fishing last year in them tough conditions then I ever thought I would Brandon Inman
