Members yeehaw Posted April 23, 2009 Members Posted April 23, 2009 (I meant to post this here instead of the tablerock forum, guess I'm just expanding my search!) Alright.....been reading this forum for years now and realized the other day that I never registered a screenname. I was borned and raised in Willard and fished alot of the area lakes and streams growing up but I moved to St. Louis about 5 years ago and that put a real damper on my fishing. Being a financial advisor has eaten up most of my time especially in this current market! Used to love to drop everything and wade the trophy area at a moments notice. And living down in SWMO, all of my buddies had boats to hit the big lakes, usually tablerock or stockton. Well now I am officially out of the loop, hence the reason I never registered a screenname........didn't have any good info to add! If ya have questions about hunting, especially turkeys and waterfowl, or even the occasional market question, let me know! (Can't answer any market questions online though, big no no) So here's the deal....... I'm heading to branson sometime late tonight. I've got some business to do down in the area and I'm taking some time for myself. I had a buddy lined up to fish with tomorrow on the rock(several of you TR tournament guys would know him) but alas, he has a last minute committment to work. All the other guys I know in the area with boats are all in the same........well.......boat! They all have to work. But I am bound and determined to catch some fish, might even chase a turkey or two......I still know where them longbirds are! I just need some advice on the fishing. I know the bank fishing up at Taylor shoals in out due to high water. Constant generation in the trophy area of Taney is gonna be a chore to deal with. I'm thinking I might try some bank fishing or wading for whites and crappie up in swan or below powersite. Might even venture out to some of the creeks coming in to stockton as I use to have some luck up there. Point me in a direction guys and I appreciate the help. I don't want anyone to have to give specifics, just what would you do if you were in my position? Sorry for the long post.....just wanted to give you some background on myself so I'm not some anonymous guy asking for info(even though I am ). On a side note, I had posted in the upper bull shoals forum yesterday to get some friends of mine on fish. They found some and had a great day! Unfortunately, no room in the boat for lil ol' me! I'll be checking this post throughout the night before I leave. Probably leave sometime between midnight and 1am to be fishing or chasing longbirds at first light! Thanks again! Chris

I am kind of in the same boat as you are. I have been up in Columbia for graduate school for the last three so I only get to fish down in the Ozarks (excluding LOZ) once a month (and all summer long!). However, I am in daily contact with all of my old fishing buddies and try to keep up on the reports as much as I can. When it gets hot enough, I will drive down for the weekend. This weekend a lot of guys will be chasing toms, so the crowds will lighter. My friend hit Blunk (James River) on Tues. and did very well on the whites. I wish I had more to tell you. Angler At Law

Looks like Swan creek is starting to get hot also. Lilley would know best. Angler At Law
