We, being myself, wife, two kids, and grandpa (BMAN) are going down to the park today. The weather looks pretty breezy but being the kids first time down to the park we will just spin fish instead of gunning for em with flies. I hear the water is high and cloudy but I think we can still find fish... The main thing is we will be starting a new generation in our family tradition of trout fishing. It oughta be fun. I have a 2 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. Dad and I both will be taking pictures so we will post some tonight.

Good luck to anyone else that might have the same idea for a Friday!

A little powerbait fished on the bottom usually fixes the whole cloudy water problem B) . Good luck

Probably to late for you to read this but the water is high and running hard. Went yesterday and in some locations it's lapping out of the bank. Water is the perfect color if you were thinking carp hole. Very hard to fish a lure below the bathrooms due to the current. Had best luck with pink/white jigs and fl. red worms Bait users were having luck with the bright colors. Fish are good size with a couple going over 2 lbs. Have fun.

The grandkids brought home two limits. :D

The Bossco Bait and Bossco method did the trick! We didn't have to resort to all seven formulas though. ;)

High water and cloudy conditions were no problem for Mira & Cole...they figured them out!

Look out fish, here comes Cole!

Here is some more pics from my camera. We all had a blast.

There is always ways to work around the high and cloudy water. Boy it was high and cloudy. Could'nt see anything. Its all a matter of reading the water when it gets like that. Using the right tackle doesnt hurt either. Still kind of a slow day but we did get into em.

The hard part was keeping the kids rounded up. My wife helped out with that alot. After awhile they got sidetracked and found some frogs and bugs to play with, but that just gave me and grandpa a chance to give the kids a little stream entomology session with the vegetation and rocks. Hopefully they retain some of that knowledge for the next step down the road... the great sport of fly fishing. Plenty of great memories have came from that park and more are sure to come.

Yes I sure did!

Matt when I first started taking you fishing, bystanders often would say"I think Dad is having the most fun of all"

You know what? THEY WERE RIGHT!!!

Take your kids fishing. Remember, be patient, the day is for them. It's more than just fishing, it's the total experience.

They (and we) will never forget.
