Is the water too muddy on the Bourbeuese, or is it worth driving down on Saturday? I think I kinda wanna go after kentuckies and catfish around Mayers landing, maybe try for a few smallies a ways upstream too .

I drove over it last weekend at Union on the way down to the Current, and it looked at least kinda fishable, although it was pretty high.

Just checked the gage height in Union and it's 3.66. I usually don't go out unless its 2.5 or less so it's about 1 ft, high over what I consider a pretty good moving current.

I'd say that it's probably still dirty too but I haven't seen it lately to confirm, I just no that the meremac near my house is still pretty ugly.

Good luck and be safe if you decide to head out,

A well. I've been doing pretty well fishing a lake near my house anyway. Next week looks pretty rainy, so I may make it down two weekends from now. I got a new canoe and I'm itching to take it out on a river.

Come down to the Huzzah just a few miles east of Steelville. Now is the time to fish it before the real crowds start arriving. The water today is running clear and about 6 inches high. or Check the huzzahvalley.com then click on river conditons.

I think I might just do that this next weekend. I remember seeing that stream one time while hunting at Huzzah Creek Conservation Area. Should I just access the Creek at Onondaga Cave SP? Or is it more suited for floating?

If you have a motor boat Onondaga cave state park has a ramp. If you want to rent or get your canoe shuttled Huzzah Valley can do that.
