Made this trip over the weekend. The water is green and moving. We covered the first 13 miles in 6 hours and camped above Spring Creek. Caught several smallies but only a few over 14". Most were caught on a husky jerk (gold) or power grub (brown w/ chartreuse tail). The bite was soft and I lost many fish due to short strikes on the HJ. The frustration made me switch to a power grub and surprisingly caught this rainbow in a run above Spring Creek...way up the river from the white. They hit the grub harder and stayed hooked but I didn't get as many hits b/c of how fast I had to work it. It was a great trip and the fishing was fun and fast just a little small now. Can't wait to go back when the water is a little slower.

The water is moving fast and someone lost a river jon in a run above Dillards Ferry. It was pinned against a tree and all their gear was still in the boat including life jackets!!

I have a picture of the rainbow but can't get it to upload. I keep getting this message "attach_error.png You did not select a file to upload" but I have attached the file several times. Anyone interested in seeing or uploading the photo pm me and I'll send it.

I knew a few rainbows ran up the Buffalo each winter from the White, but I didn't have any idea that ranged that far upstream or stayed in the river this long. If that rainbow doesn't head back down to the White here pretty soon, he's gonna be in trouble B)

Good job, sounds like you had a good time.
