Rolan Duffield Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Bman. Yes I knew there was a tree somewhere around there though I couldn't locate it. Thought it might have floated off. You couldn't see it with the high water levels we were experincing. The top was just barely at water level when they lowered the water to using 2 turbines. We saw the top of it in time to avoid a problem. We floated near there as that is a good area to fish at times. Thanks for your concerns. Wish you would have introduced yourself. Fishing was the poorest I have seen in some time. Jigs just wern't working at all. Our best lure was Peppy (gray scud). You just needed to get it on the bottom to have any chance of success. I believe that the high water, the low pressure conditions and the continual rains are having a major impact on fishing conditions. Thouroughly enjoyed the time spent with my oldest son. That was priceless for me. He's never had an interest in fishing until last fall. We spent 3 days fishing together and he caught a fair amount of fish. It doesn't get any better than that. In spite of the tough conditions he stayed with it all day, every day. My great friend, Phil, invited us croppie fishing and Phil helped Richard, giving him some valuable lessons on using the spinning rod. Many thanks buddy. Rolan
twosets Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 It was nice to see you and spend a few minutes. Thanks for the peppys, I will do my best to duplicate them, caught a trout on one with the flyrod off the new section of Phil's doc Monday am. very close to the bank, but saved the rest to duplicate. Fishing with either parents or kids is a true pleasure that I savor more each time that I do it, one of those things that is special as we get older It was nice to meet your son also and I am glad you can share your skill with him. Perhaps we will meet up again when the water conditions are more suitable to our kind of fishing. All my best George Steffen "This is not Nam. This is bowling. There are rules."
Bman Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Rolan, It was nice sharing the water with you. Glad you had a great time with your son, as I was at Taney with my son a week before. I will look forward to shaking your hand sometime in our future sir. George, Great meeting you special since you are right around the corner from me. Lets go fishing sometime! Lilley's, a great place to meet new freinds, and renew old acquaintances! The only good line is a tight line
