timsfly Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Roaring river came up big last night, we recieved 4" of rain here at cassville, the streets in town are flooded in all the low places. I don't expect Roaring river to be fly fishable for at least 4 days, and that is if the rain quits pretty quick, from what they are calling for it may be next weekend before the river is down enough to fly fish. So for now, big jigs, powerbait, crankbaits and gold spoons will be the trick. oh and 4 or 6lb line will be ok for a week or so. Steve Smith Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I came through the park about 6:30 this morning [Friday] and it was rolling really well and very muddy. Dry Holler was far from dry with incoming water aready level with the flooded river. Oddly, the campgrounds #2 & #3 still had RV's parked in it. I expected them to be evaculated by now. Probably be a good weekend to tie. I had a feeling last night watching the weather reports it would get bad. Anytime they say a front will stall out over the top of us, we can expect heavy rains if the moisture is there. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
