Crappie Report

I was out yesterday in Flat Creek Crappie fishing, had a few shorts and ended up with 12 keepers.

We caught most of them on drop offs and they were in 6-9 foot of water. We had one sow looked like she was about 1 week off eggs had no blood in them.

We did catch a few nice Cat fish 20-22 inch one sucker all of the Bluegill you would want and one 12 lb Carp.

We were using 1/180oz gig under a float

All on the 9'5wt Fly rod

Fished out of Bridgeport yesterday from 10-4. Not as many crappie as i would have thought, only 4, 10-15". The lake was also down about a foot from two weeks ago when the same areas were just getting fish on the bank. Did catch a couple of nice 3lb cats and a few whites, all non targeted of course. Fish were caught on a 1/16th maribou jig and minnow.
