I joined friends at JFK Saturday afternoon in the rain. Gennies were on so no fishing that day. We grilled brats and watched Trout Bum Diaries 1 and 2 on the side of the tent that night. Awesome video. Terry's kettle corn popped in the dutch oven complimented things as well.

Water was off all day Sunday because of downstream flooding. I brought 26 to the net fishing the park during the rain all day long.. Six were browns and the rest were some pretty bows. Half were caught off of tan sowbugs and the other half were from red zebras and wine zebras with copper beads and wire. Nothing there of real size. My friend caught 20 on tan beadhead sowbugs.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maddog Mike Davis at the fly shop. After a short visit I could tell this guy really knows this river and has treaded some noteworthy rivers across this country.

Water was still off Monday morning. I only picked up one at the park and fishing was slow. My friend said he caught 6 before I arrived and one was an 18" brown. We decided on Swinging Bridge for an hour or so. Fishing was tough there because the water was up and swift and had a good stain to it. 4 of us picked up 4 fish so we left. I talked to a guy on my way out and he said he picked up a dozen at the bridge by swinging a small olive wooly bugger.

I hope I make it down again this year. Mike, I'll give you a fair warning when I do.

It was good meeting and chatting with you Don. I drove thru the park after the shop shut down Sunday and passed you coming across the bridge as you were heading to the park and I was heading to town. I had a good Monday morning .. started about 9:30 and fished until noon. Give me a holler next time you head this way and maybe we can meet up and swap some Terry Beeson stories.:wacko:

I went to buy batteries but they weren't included.

That's right. We did exchange names of OAF members that we knew and met. Problem is, I ain't got no dirt on TB and I'm not one to make up a few as I go along. Although, I'm sure there a few out there who has some:). Look out!

I'm glad you had a good Monday out there. Don

I went down to the small pool below that stretch of fast water we talked about. My usual spot I fish was about ankle deep. I saw boulders there that I didn't know existed. I got to the pool and the fish seemed to be stacked up. I wanted to go tomorrow morning but there's a bunch of thunder-boomers and some lightning going on right now. We'll have to see ....
