fishinSWMO Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Here are some pictures of a small creek I waded today. The main creeks and rivers are still a little full of rain water. Jeremy Dodson
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Great pics fishin!! I love that creek. I was there two weeks ago and the water was high but clear. It was just about to start raining again so I didn't do much. Hung around for about 20-30 minutes and just fished the bridge area. Sure enough it started raining so I called it a day. Got my fix I guess. tippet7 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 where is turtle creek? that looks like a great little creek You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
FishinCricket Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I really enjoyed your pictures, those are really good.. They definitely make me wanna find this Turtle Creek.. I just love wading through creeks like this for fish using an ultralight (see attached pics), but we have one or two creeks around here that I will be wading with a fly rod this summer... I look forward to posting some pics, but I need a decent quality camera. I noticed yours is waterproof? What kind do you use? cricket.c21.com
Danoinark Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I love those small creeks. Great report and pics. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
fishinSWMO Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Sorry guys, I made that name up due to the amount of turtles I seen. Shoot me a pm and I will get back to you. Cricket, I use a olympus 850sw. The price has really come down on these compared to what I paid. I believe I saw them at Sams club for 159 awhile back. Jeremy Dodson
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Now that's funny. I didn't even notice that you put "turtle creek" in there. I just recognized where a couple of the pic were. I commend you for calling it that! Let's hook up later this summer and do a wade trip with the boys. As you know, this creek as an awesome brownie population. fishinSWMO Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Sounds good Chief. I knew you and several others on here fish these creeks, they dont need to much traffic. Jeremy Dodson
creek wader Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I gotta agree, great pics. I too, love to wade the small creeks also, hence my handle. Don't blame you for keeping it a secret. The smaller streams don't need the traffic. The streams up here a raging, lots of heavy rain, in mid-missouri. Bummer, even the small er streams are up and muddy. wader
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Hey Cricket, you may want to do like Buzz and I have done and go to Wally World and back in the camping section is a blue colored water proof box. I don't know how big your camera is but it will probably hold it. We took it a step further and cut to fit some thin foam and glued to all of the sides and top and bottom to reduce shock to the camera. We just clip these to our belts and have no worrys about the water. Never a drop has got in these. And we have submerged them on many occasions.
