Spinnaker Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 As my friend resort owner told me, the weather was going to be great, so the fishing would not be so great. I wanted to come down sooner but could not make it work. My results were slim but the 2 high lights were a 19 inch white bass taken on a blue/silver crank bait I cast after I saw a giant splash near my boat. 2 casts later and the fight was on. This morning I was waiting for the Marina to open so I could buy some gas so I went buy the point and cast a mid sized perch crank in about 10 feet of water. I thought, as usual, I cast too shallow and had a snag. Well the snag started stripping line. It was a fat 18 inch LM. So, although a had some shorts, those were the best I could do. I hope to get down in the fall to fish the Rock but in the mid summer, I want to fish upper end of Taney and fly fish for trout. Will they ever get the water down on the Rock so they don't flush Taney so much everyday? Cheers.
