Members Van Posted May 22, 2009 Members Posted May 22, 2009 Hello. I am relatively new to the area and would like to try some largemouth/spotted/smallmouth bass fishing on Beaver using a canoe or kayak. I've located most of the boat launching sites on googlemaps but I'm curious which ones would be relatively close to decent-fishing creek or river arms so that I could paddle both easily and safely. Bass fishing is my number one goal but, having had interesting experiences in small boats on big lakes, I'm also a bit paranoid about getting run over by pleasure boats doing 40 mph. Thanks for any responses! Van
Zack Hoyt Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I absoluely hate paddling in even semi-popular areas due to ignorant boaters. That being said, there is good crappie fishing around MonteNe, I like some of the coves around Ventris, and of course the arms of the White and War Eagle for spawning White, Hybrids, and Striper. Also check out Lake Leatherwood around Eureka. Good Bass and Bluegill on a no-wake lake. You also have Lake Fayetteville, Lake Elm Springs, Lake Sequoyah, etc. that are good fishing and alot smaller than Beaver. As on any lake, you have to watch for the big boats.
