Buffalo/white River Trip

I am taking a trip down to the Buffalo and White Rivers next Friday the 29th. I have never been down there before Staying in a pop up camper. 2 nights at Dogwood Springs in Jasper with some hikes up around Ponca and a float trip from Ponca or Steel Creek down to Kyle's Landing. Then 2 nights at Erbie with a float from Erbie to Pruitt. Then 2 nights at Buffalo Point with a couple of floats. One from Maumee to BP and one from BP to Rush. Then on to the White Buffalo Resort for 3 nights fishing the White River with a day trip to the Norfolk tail water.

I think I have got the fishing figured out from reading all of your posts. You guys are a wealth of knowledge. Especially John Berry and Lilley. Thanks everybody.

My question/questions is I have my own canoe and will need to do a bunch of shuttles for these floats. What are my options. Do they pick you up at take out and shuttle you to put in or go to put in and they drive your vehicle down to the take out? Who do I use for this? Cost? Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I am so looking forward to this trip as I have been wanting to do this for many, many years and finally am able to. Thanks again everyone for all your help.

You will most likely have to use two outfitters. One for the upper Buffalo for the Ponca and Erbie trip and another outfitter for the lower end around Buffalo Point and Rush. Buffalo Resort on the White also offers shuttles. Most will accommodate you by either picking you up or shuttling your vehicle. I would check with the various river outfitters for the best deals. And welcome to the forum.

the ruling is...if you do a 5 day trip on the river, anyone of them can shuttle you! the river was too low to float out of ponca last weekend, but the rain bumped the level to a good level. and fishing has been great!! just make sure you mark water levels with a stick, or stones at camp each day so you know if it's going up ..or down!! if you have rain on your trip you need to look at camping 10 vertical feet from the rivers bank( yeah! i'm a worry wart!but i'm also the guy that gets to come get you when it goes bad out there!!) but once you pass rush your all alone !!
