et84 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I was visiting my grandmother's house the other day and was looking through some old photographs and found these gems. I had grown up hearing about an old picture of my grandad with a big catfish he caught, and this was it. I don't know how much it weighed and my grandmother didn't remember, but she said that 80 lb.+ catfish were caught fairly often, and for them to have used expensive film to take a picture of it, it must have been bigger than usual, maybe even 100 lbs.?? . My grandad is the one on the left. He (They?) caught it right by the family farm on the Missouri River, on a jugline. The picture is dated August, 1936. "Sometimes it seems like such a hard life, but there's good times around the bend. The rollercoaster's gotta roll to the bottom if ya wanna climb to the top again."
