slider Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Four of us just got back from Warsaw, We had a good night. I think it was 10 birds 4lbs plus the bigest fish 9+,7.0, 6.7,5+ the rest around 4 lbs. we had around 50 whites, 15 crappie and 4 waleye. Vonreed had the 2 bigest fish followed by Tightline and myself. We are trying to break Vonreed in so he can drive us old men home when it gets late. Didnt know he was going to show us old timers up though. Slider DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!

rangerman Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Slider, Did you actually get those night fishing or was it evening into night? One more question, was it off of the bank in the tailrace. I went up there yest. They had some flood gates open and I got there about 30minutes late for the topwater hybrid bite. Caught the hell out of small crappie and some decent whites. I managed to get one walleye which is what I went up there targeting primarily. Could you give me an idea where you got the walleye and on what, that is what I'm really wanting to fish for up there. thanks, Jason
slider Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 Rangerman, I was up there last night also, they had closed the flood gates before we had arrived and didnt ever see the big hybrids. We did catch whites and some crappie. As fore the walleye there is no honey hole I have caught them from below the handicap dock all the way to the fence. Last night I heared of one abouve the handicap dock one of our guys caught one about middle ways and I caught one up closer to the fence. I dont know if that will help you much, the ones we have been catching have all come of of a purple beetle fished on a 1/16 head. We have been fishing about an hour before dark until around midnight or so. Slider DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
Members jnorman Posted May 31, 2009 Members Posted May 31, 2009 Slider, Did you guys try the west side since they had the gates shut down or see anybody catching any hybrids or whites out of the generator current? I think I am coming down tomorrow and am just trying to get a feel for where the fish are now that they have had the gates shut down for a few days. The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
slider Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 jnorman' We didnt try on the west side but I would expect they could have been over there in the currant. It seems they shute the gates on the weekend so if your going tommorow they maybe up a running by then. Slider DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
