OzarkFishman Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I have went the past two nights from about 7 to 8:30. I waded behind the Jeep dealership and went down a little ways. I finally took my good waders (no hole in the crotch and breathable), so I could get to a few spots that I couldn't before. Only picked up 4 total: 1 goggle-eye, 1 largemouth, 1 smallmouth, and 1 longear sunfish. No size, but it was fun to find a few new spots. OzarkFishman
OzarkFishman Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Forgot to mention that I was throwing a 1/32 jig (red hook) with small swimmin minnows (smoke).
smallmouthjoe Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 You should try green bridge up. It's a really good wade. Don't leave your car at the bridge though, it's best to to have someone drop you off. Thanks for the report.

Members yamahammer Posted June 14, 2009 Members Posted June 14, 2009 If you head towards Riverside Inn take a right on E Greenbridge Rd just before you get to Riverside and follow it until you get to Smyma rd, go left and your at the bridge.

Is there not room at the bridge to park a car or is it on private proerty with a less than cordial landowner? Seems like I have heard some areas above Riverside floaters and waders are not exactly welcome
RSBreth Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 It's a problem spot. (Green Bridge) People who go down there under the bridge and shoot off fireworks and get drunk tend to make the landowners less than friendly. I have permission to park my truck up from the bridge in the end of someone's drive, but that's because I've been here a while and ask very nicely. The landowner right across from Riverside has had problems, too. They do have a couple of not-so-nice doggies who after several years of familiarity have still not warmed up to me much, so unless you savor the thought of getting a chunk of your hamstring munched off by a couple of large Chow-Shepherd mix canines, don't trespass there. You're safe in the river though.
Members gobblergetter Posted June 16, 2009 Members Posted June 16, 2009 the not so friendly landowner has good reason to be less then friendly in my opinion. Iv hauled hay for him on several occasions, and two years ago a bunch of drunks parked down there caught his hay field on fire. he called the sherrif on them and mysteriously two nights later he had about 40 round bales that were in the same field that were up by the road further up in the field catch on fire. I dont blame him at all for not welcoming people with open arms. however on his behalf he is a good guy and even a fellow fisherman.

You're safe in the river though. Don't get me wrong, my family owns a lot of land and I support landowners' rights, but having a dog that will bite people is just plain stupid. The law is WELL settled that you can't use deadly force against some for trespassing (outside of the home) and having a vicious dog is the functional equivalent of land mining your property. A vicious dog doesn't care if it bites a child or a thief. If you read the CCW post on this forum, you will see that dogs are one of the main reasons people chose to carry. Angler At Law
RSBreth Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Yeah, I'm one of those people, too. I was just alerting people to the fact that it probably wasn't a smart idea to trespass there. It's always drunks and morons who make it hard for us honest fishermen.
