Members jnorman Posted June 19, 2009 Members Posted June 19, 2009 Went down yesterday to fish. Got there around noon and went to the west side next to the fence. They weren't generating and were only letting 500 CFS out through one gate. The whites were biting pretty well on rooster tails and road runners. They were sitting about 10-15 ft. out from the bank. Caught about a dozen keepers and a countless number of smaller ones before they turned a generator on at 3. After that the bite stopped. They shut the water off about 5 and the wind started to die down. The top water bite turned on then. From then until dusk we caught a lot of small whites. Just before sunset the top water really turned on. We had three monster hybrids get off and got one in that was 7-8 pounds. After the sun set, the whites mixed in with a few crappie started bitting on a jig. Unfortunately, we did not have a lattern so we had to call it a day. Ended up with about 15 whites and the hybrid. Even with the water not running, they're still bitting! The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
