nwaoutdoorsman Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Anyone been night bass fishing on Beaver? I've been several times and the bass are kicking my tail. I cant catch much of anything. Went Sat. night and stayed almost all night. Thru a spinnerbait, buzzbait, dd22, various worms and all kinds of other stuff and caught 3 nonkeeper spots and 1 barely a keeper LM. I love night fishing but when the water is high like this it just messes me all up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Members spahog Posted June 11, 2009 Members Posted June 11, 2009 I've been fishing a lot of night tournaments the last couple of weeks, and I havent had very good luck either. Catching a few on a black spinnerbait, few on a jig, and a few on plastics, but no strong pattern. There have been some guys weigh some nice bags in the night tournaments, so it may just be us. That being said most people I talk to are having a tough time after dark. I think we still need a few degrees in water temp before it starts getting good.
J-Doc Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Try fishing the main lake points and big flats next to river channels. Also try fishing smaller baits. D22 will go deep but the profile has been seen by too many fish. I'm finding really small baits produce numbers and slightly larger baits will produce bigger fish. I think Beaver has seen everything plus the kitchen sink thrown in it and the bass are not falling for conventional baits as much. Not saying they won't work but slow finesse presentations will work when nothing else will. We caught 10-12 bass Sat. morning when the fog was so thick you couldn't see 50yards ahead of you. All on a flat and with smaller baits like rooster tails. Only 2-3 were keepers but I learned where the fish were and what they were doing. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Members spahog Posted July 1, 2009 Members Posted July 1, 2009 The night fishing finally turned on for me about a week and a half ago. Also, weights in all the night tournaments I've been fishing have been up. Not doing anything fancy, just the typical night baits. The black spinnerbait bite is not quite where it should be, but if you throw it around lighted docks you'll find bites.
