Guest Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Just checked the USGS site and the river dropped to 232 CFS yesterday!!! The river is currently dropping as well so it may be wadeable this afternoon. Also, another good site to check out is http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/KEYS.lakepage.html It gives current lake conditions at keystone, as well as gate settings and any changes that have been made. Time to break out the big sticks and get to chasing hybrids and stripers. Chance, if you're reading this I hope you brought your gear to work with you today!!!! Go get 'em boys (ahem, I mean MEN)
OKFlyFisher44 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Yes Cole...it dropped...and then it went right back up about an hour before I got off work. Mid-afternoon seems to be the time to go as far as wade-able conditions the last few days. It won't be a long though before we'll see consistent low-water. I wouldn't be surprised if they shut it off this weekend.... Well, we can always dream! Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
Evolution Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Got a chance to get out there today. No luck, only fished for an hour or so (2-3:30ish) before the water started to rise. The stripers/hybrids/white bass are in there but they are small from what I saw. The place is filled with spoonbills so prepare for a long fight if you hook one up. Had one drag me from near the turn to almost the south gates where the heavy slingers were fishing before it broke off. Cats were pretty active if you have live bait/gills.
Hopper Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 If the generation schedual holds like it is through the weekend, I'll be there all day Sunday, been having withdrawls from those big fish, cant wait to toss those clousers on my 8 wt. Gregg The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing.
