Kyle Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I am going to be down Monday evening and Tuesday most of the day. Was just wondering if anyone was going to be arround? Probably mostly up by Tan Vat, but maybe baptist camp. Also, anyone have any hot tips? Kyle
Nortrad Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 We will just miss you. My fishing partner gets back to the US and we're going on Wed. I used some rubber legs, Brian Wise-inspired, #6, #8, weighted, last time and did fairly well. I had some nice ones go after the Thingamabobber (I hate that.). I'm thinking hopper/dropper? Pheasant tails work also. Just my two cents.
Members jgentile Posted June 12, 2009 Members Posted June 12, 2009 Kyle, I'm headed to Van Tat tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it went. Joe
Members tinner Posted June 12, 2009 Members Posted June 12, 2009 I was there last Sunday and did pretty well. The usual like rubber legged stones were a dud for the first time ever. The hot "fly" was a red san juan worm. I caught 17 total and all but one was on the san juan worm. The other was on a psycho prince. The water was perfect last week I hope it stays the same for you. Good luck. Tim
Members Troutfly69 Posted June 12, 2009 Members Posted June 12, 2009 Unless they are predicting no generation at Taney theres a really good chance I'll be heading down that direction on Monday morning and fishing Monday and Tuesday. I'll shore up my plans more this weekend depending on water levels and weather, if I'm there I'd be interested in meeting up and fishing with you for a while. I won't be much help on advice though as I've only fished the Current 3 or 4 times so I'm still learning the river (and the fish). I'll post again tomorrow if I'm going and maybe we can hook up.
Nortrad Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 That's the first person I've read about who's been successful with the Psycho Prince, green I presume? I've used it several times with no luck. I know Brian uses it a lot on the N. Fork. I used the 3D Nymph with success from Baptist.
Members BKB Posted June 13, 2009 Members Posted June 13, 2009 I had success in March with Psycho Prince above and just below TanVat
Kyle Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 Troutfly69, I will not be much help either considering it is my first trip fishing the current. But, I would like to get together and exchange some knowledge. PM me if you are intrestred. Kyle
Randall Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 For the absolute best results, I like a big rusty treble hook with huge chunk of trout guts which you can get plenty of in the park. Cute animals taste better.
