Members DLM84 Posted June 12, 2009 Members Posted June 12, 2009 Hi all, I am looking into planing a trip to the Niangua River and can not find any info pertaining to Special fishing permits. I seem to remember that in bennett springs you need a special trout fishing permit but not on the Niangua, Is this true? will a regular MO Conservation fishing license be all I need? Thanks, DLM
podum Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 All you need to fish the river is a MO license. If you want to keep trout, you need a yearly trout tag ($7 additional). I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

ozark trout fisher Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Podum is on the money.. When are you planning on going? Yeah, no special permit just to fish............. But if you are as fond of grilled trout as I am, you'll need a trout stamp
Members DLM84 Posted June 14, 2009 Author Members Posted June 14, 2009 Podum is on the money.. When are you planning on going? Some time this summer. I usually go to Bennett springs about 2 maybe 3 times a year but was looking for some place to trout fish closer to home, Home being El Dorado Springs MO. FYI. How is the bank fishing? or should I plan on bringin a boat? Its a long ways to drag a boat so I am hoping bank fishing is gud!! Thanks, DLM

Thanks, DLM Good to have another one of Cedar County's finest on the forum. No need to bring a boat that far. Bank fishing / wading is just fine. Angler At Law
