Bass fishing was slow, we caught two nice fish in the morning on slow topwater . Walleye were hitting crank baits and spiners had a few keepers , try the inlets of coves or long flats 12-16 ft of water. btw took a good muskie on a spinerbait while bass fishing 14 ft of water running really slow. I have caught one nearly every trip now while bass fishing but nothing of mention til now , I will try some of the gear I have (nothing like a real muskie fisherman) next time I go and see if i cant get one of these monsters to strike . the one I caught hit the scales for 22lbs . we are in the process of trying to get the cord for my phone that lets me take the pictures off of it. I will post it as soon as I do. few people I talk to that muskie fish out there are friendly , one guy even told me to not do it idk why , in a attempt to better his chances or try to save me money is my guess either way it would be great if anyone had a few tips for me. I have never tried to fish for them but seem to always get em around my bass fishing spots . Other than that fishing was slow, look for it to pick back up when the weather gets a little more stable .. conditions were sunny in the morning after the storm front that moved out around 80F and partly cloudy from 11am throughout the rest of the day..water was still really really clear......good luck

Hey Amp! I've been reading a lot of ur posts on here and just got around to getting an account on here myself. I've had pretty good luck to say the least this year on fellows compared to previous but other times ill go out and get about 2 bites, and I see you've been tearing it up yourself. I pretty much stay on the southern leg of the lake in the coves. WHich end do you usually fish when you're there? And when u were fishing flats last week in 1 to 3 ft of water are u talking about the southern most bank past that big cove on your right side? And where have u been catching your muskie at? I throw bass lures all the time everywhere but haven't ever had a musky hit one, maybe im just not in their environment...Thanks man! Maybe ill see u out there i've been fishing that place like crazy this year 14 ft flatbottom jonboat c ya around!

ps... I got my girlfriend two baby ducks for easter and we let them go at fellows about 4 weeks ago, they're the two ducks that are always by the handicap platform and they're pretty much full grown now. If anyone sees em don't be afraid to throw em some bread! I'm sure they'll appreciate it! Thanks everyone!

Set the hook first, ask questions later...

this will be hard to explain but I will try, if you go to the furthest cove back or the tip of the southern leg of the lake then count back west from there...1. the tip of the leg .2. the next inlet to it that is close to the same .3. the long cut-out next to these two spurs leading into a point and then .4. the long shallows and hump that make up the rest of the bank to the next very large cove. 1.is the best for whites following the channel all the way out .. 2 is a good muskie spot but you have to sneak on them these fish are easily spooked (due to the water being so clear imo)... 3. holds alot of walleye and whites and then we come to 4.. the bass are shallow and up in these weeds. there is a primary tree line 20 yrds from the visible weeds on this bank as well as a small channel then large hump leading into main channel , said hump is where i get most of the muskie strikes and allot of good bass and some walleye. I know this sounds crazy but everything from topwater to a lil green jig will take all of these fish in all of these places. today the 15th i fished all day with a zara spook and tore them up . all of them. I know this will also sound crazy but aside from fishing the visible structure on #4 as you take this bank take time to turn your back to the bank and fish the open water over this massive hump that lies just 30-40 yards off the front line of visible weeds .I know fishing off shore ,way from the bulk of structure is a strange concept but bass hang in this channel and will come off the grass that resides in the bottom of this channel to hit just about anything right now. this water that i speak of goes from 8 ft at the visible structure to around 14-16ft back to 10 ft for the hump and then main channel. next time you go try it .no jokes or games turn your back to the bank and cast across that hump with a spook and watch the fire works.. the same goes for the west tip of 2 and all of 3.. there is tons of structure that you dont see and tons of fish sitting on it. but 3 leading into 4 is my honey hole. obviously there are bass in the visible weeds but the fat females are just cruising that channel the long skinny fellers are up in those weeds feeding all day spooks , soft plastics (worm or crawdad) ,spinerbait..all do well for the most part crank bait seems to detour bass but has some pull w/ the walleye.. hope this quick attempt to explain was helpful , remember dark colors for lowlight, chrome/ prismatic for sunny days..when all else fails pull the motor up and paddle back into those weeds and pick it apart..

ps. make room for me

feel as though i need to add that the muskie that hit my lures usually are chasing it for a while..they hit from behind..and they run at you making it feel as though the lure isnt even on anymore...just a hint ; next time you feel this sensation reel as though your life was depending on it and give it such a jerk that your feet come off the boat when you feel him on. if you have ever gotten into a slew of gar its the same idea.. bone and tooth is all they have in the front ..sometimes you have to drill a pilot hole to get that hook to set. :) I Lost the biggest bass i have seen out of there on topwater to this very thing today .. hit from behind and ran full force at me busted water and spit the spook right into my hands ...other than that it was a unbelievable day of fishing for fellows I would think all weeks overcast/ warming trend will provide just what they need to get active.. lol watch out for the carp spawn I kept chasing gaint splashes in the brush thinking it was a monster muskie turns out there is more grass carp than a phish concert in there having all sorts of fun...

I'm use to fishing rivers and sometimes Table Rock . . Fellows is different. I have tried the weeds as you suggested and produced a few small bass. I think heavier gear .. more practice . . and I'll learn the lake. Thank you for your posts.
