smallmouthjoe Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Fished the Springfield Lake tail water Thursday morning before work. Caught Five or six large mouths, two spots, one smallmouth and one green sunfish in about two hours. All of the largemouth and one of the spots had really good size. Caught them where you would normally expect to find smallmouth, current seams, behind breaks etc. I don't know where the larger smallmouth are. I saw one brute of a smallmouth clinging on to life in a shallow eddy. The water coming of the lake was extremely warm and I hope they moved down stream or I hope they were just ignoring me. All fish were caught on a brown and orange bitsy bug with a paca craw on the back.

I see people fishing down there as I go over the bridge as I am heading to the boat ramp at 65 hwy but never fished it before. Is there a good place to launch a kayak down there?
smallmouthjoe Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Sorry for the late reply I just got back from table rock. There's a boat ramp/wheelchair access down there but it's steep. I could manage it by myself with my kayak just because I have a little one.
