I have seen some of Charlie Readings rods...they are nice but pricey.

I know a guy that fishes Montauk quite a bit and he had a split bamboo made by reading. He had some feathers from his pet parrot inlayed on the rod and the butt piece looked more like a piece of jewelry than a handle...nice work and it should have been, believe he payed $3500.00 for the rod...I would be about half scared to use the rod but I guess I wouldn't have one built if I had no intention of using it.

Yes they are pricey...but the example you point out is going to be very pricey anywhere.

Thanks for the mention there, Dano...we appreciate at least a look from people when considering a new rod. And our custom rods are in a much more affordable range.

Thanks again.

I have 2 of Clay's spinning rods and they are absolutely great. I would highly recommend them

I a had a custom rod built by Dale Griest from Nixa, I know he will build them in about any price range and will give you many options. I personally work with him and know from experience what a perfectionist he is. If you are interested, let me know and I can get you in touch with him.
