Hopper Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Anybody plan on braving the heat tommorrow? I'm going to try and be there by 6:00am and start up by the dam. Gregg The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing.
DaddyO Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I won't be there. My wife and kids are return home from Colorado and my wife fell and broke her wrist. So, I'll be tending to her and enjoying having my family back home. Of course the next weekend is the 4th of July weekend and I'm not going to fight the crowds that weekend. If you don't do well in the morning, find some place in the shade with a breeze and take a nap and go back out around 6:30pm or 7:00pm. The fish should turn on pretty good by then. OKFlyFisher44 Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Heading to Taneycomo or I'd be out there tomorrow evening! Good luck Gregg! Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
On The Fly 6 Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I went out yesterday and would probably make it out today if I didnt have a wedding I was obligated to go to! Water was high yesterday, but still wadable. I caught 5 up by the dam...but they didnt seem as active as they normally are. Good luck to you today! Hopper Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Got on the water around 6:30 am, several people already on the water. caught 30 fish, caught a 22" rainbow just down from the cable below the dam, my largest at the lower Illinois. Caught 3-4 fingerling stripers in the same area and a couple of bluegill. In the afternoon went down to the Watts area and caught 6 or 7 there. Fishing was definately off and on would catch 3 or 4 in a row then go for a hour with nothing, overall a good day did'nt seem to hot while wading. DaddyO Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Gregg, That Rainbow looks like the same one that I caught last weekend. I'm glad it's still in their getting bigger. Good Job!! DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.

Last week, I caught some of those baby stripers down by marval in an area where I used to catch a lot of trout. Also caught some 1-2 lb schooling stripers downstream of marval. Only caught a couple trout that day, still not too good with the trout fishing i guess.
